Is the betting total set too low in tonight’s Marlins and Giants game at 10:15PM ET?
The Matchup: Marlins vs. Giants, 10:15PM ET, AT&T Park
Miami enters play with a 38-46 record, is just 17-25 on the road, and has dropped six of its last 10 games overall. On the other side, San Francisco has won seven of its last 10 games overall but is just 34-53 and 17-21 at home in 2017.
According to oddsmakers, Miam is a -120 money line favorite to win tonight on that road. That makes San Francisco a +100 money line underdog to pull off the upset at home. As for the total, the number hit the board at 8 but has been bet up to 8.5.
The Pitching Matchup: Dan Straily (MIA) vs. Matt Moore (SFG)
Straily is 6-4 on the year and owns a 3.51 ERA over his 95.0 innings of work this season. He’s coming off a win against the Brewers in Milwaukee. The veteran pitched six innings of three-run ball, allowed five hits and surrendered two home runs. He also struck out four and walked one in Miami’s 10-3 victory.
On the other side, Moore is just 3-8 and owns a horrific 5.78 ERA over 95 innings pitched. He is coming off a no-decision against the Pirates in Pittsburgh. He allowed one run on four hits over 5 2/3 innings of work. Moore struck out five but walked a whopping six batters in the Giants’ 2-1 victory.
Our Prediction
The over has cashed in four of the last five meetings between these two teams in San Francisco and is 7-2 in the last nine meetings in this series overall. The over is also 7-3-1 in Straily’s last 11 starts and is 12-5-3 in the Giants’ last 20 games coming off a loss.
Friday MLB Prediction: Marlins/Giants over 8.5
