Leonard Fournette NFL Draft Predictions: Will he go in top 4? 4/23/17

NFL Draft Leonard Fournette

Where will Leonard Forunette wind up in this week’s NFL Draft? Oddsmakers believe it’ll be among the first five picks.

According to oddsmakers, the over/under for Fournette’s NFL draft position has been set at 4. That means if bettors take the over, Fournette will have to be selected past the first four picks in order to win the bet. If a wager is placed on the under, he would have to be selected with in the first four picks.

Will a team in top 4 of NFL draft select Fournette?

Let’s break this down, pick-by-pick. The Browns aren’t going to take Fournette with the No. 1 overall pick. That selection will go to either Texas A&M pass-rusher Myles Garrett, or a quarterback like North Carolina’s Mitchell Trubisky. The 49ers, with Carlos Hyde listed atop their running back depth chart, are unlikely to take Fournette, too. The Bears, who pick third, also have a young, productive back in Jordan Howard.

That leaves the Jaguars, who are absolutely a possibility for Fournette. Whether it’s via free agency or the NFL draft, they have searched for years for a productive back. Neither T.J. Yeldon nor Chris Ivory have Fournette’s dynamic abilities, so perhaps Jacksonville will pull the trigger on the LSU product.

Is Fournette a good bet to be selected in top 4 of NFL Draft?

As previously noted, there’s a good chance Fournette comes off the board to the Jaguars. That said, the way I see it, Jacksonville is the only team in the top 4 that need Fournette, unless someone trades up. Even if a team trades into the top 4, what are the chances they select Fournette?

The Panthers are a more-likely option for Fournette at No. 8 and thus, I like the ‘over 4’ when it comes to the LSU running back’s landing spot.
