Oddsmakers from online sportsbooks currently list the Twins as a -205 favorite. As of this writing, 77% of the betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks are on the Twins to beat the Royals on the moneyline.

Royals’ Smith moving into Royals’ starting rotation

Burch Smith will start for the Royals on Wednesday in Minnesota. He’s taking Jason Hammel’s spot in the rotation. Smith holds a 5.40 ERA and has walked 21 over 38 1/3 relief innings this season, although he’s also struck out 39. The 28-year-old has posted strong strikeout numbers when healthy and could eventually become deep-league worthy, but he needs to get stretched out and can’t be trusted yet.

Twins’ Lynn holds Orioles to one run in victory

Lance Lynn fired six innings of one-run ball in a 6-2 win over the Orioles on Friday. It was nice to see after he was hit hard in back-to-back starts. Lynn scattered six hits and walked a pair, with the only run coming via an RBI single from Chris Davis in his final inning of work. He fanned three in the victory and holds a 5.21 ERA through 17 starts on the year. Lynn was trending in the right direction prior to his previous two starts, so there’s still time to improve his standing on the trade market.
