Golf Predictions: Who will win the St. Jude Classic? 6/7/17
The 2017 St. Jude Classic tees off Thursday morning. Here are three golfers we like to be the top contenders for the victory. Here’s a look at our golf predictions.
ST. JUDE CLASSIC ODDS
According to the latest oddsmakers, Rickie Fowler is favored to win this tournament, as he is getting 7/2 odds to win. Other short odds to prevail are Adam Scott (12/1), Brooks Koepka (12/1) and Phil Mickelson (16/1). The St. Jude Classic takes place Thursday-Sunday from TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tennessee.
GOLF PREDICTIONS
RICKIE FOWLER
Rickie Fowler has been playing really well for the past few months and I think that leads to another good showing this weekend. He is coming off a second-place finish at The Memorial last weekend and he has finished in the top 10 four times this year, with one victory. Fowler has missed just one cut in 10 tournaments this year. He is a good play this weekend as the favorite.
PHIL MICKELSON
Phil Mickelson may not play in next week’s U.S. Open due to his daughter’s graduation, so this week’s tournament may have a little more meaning for him. Lefty hasn’t been great this year, but he has been good at making the cuts. He has yet to miss a cut in 13 tournaments this year with a pair of top-10 finishes. This is a course that Mickelson has been good at. He finished second a year ago and second in 2013. Look for Phil to make a push for the title this weekend.
DANNY LEE
Danny Lee is listed with 40/1 odds to win this tournament. Lee is a gamble, but I think he can pay off this weekend. Lee has missed six cuts this year, which doesn’t inspire confidence, but he finished sixth at the Dean & DeLuca Invite and fifth at the Byron Nelson. There is reason to believe he is on an upswing. He should have some confidence given his recent performances and he is a good dark horse to consider. He is a former PGA winner, so he knows what it takes, and a win this weekend can do a lot for his career. I think he will be dialed in.
