College Football Predictions: Will Oregon cover vs. Washington State?
Is No. 11 Washington State set to have a letdown performance when the Cougars hit the road to face Oregon tonight at 8PM ET? Here’s our College Football Predictions for this game.
ODDS
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Washington State is a slight favorite on the road, as the Cougars are getting odds of -2.5 points against Oregon. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 59.5 points. Washington State has won two straight against Oregon and the Cougars have covered the spread in seven straight meetings. Today’s game takes place from Autzen Stadium in Eugene, Oregon and will air live on FOX.
OREGON
Oregon is coming off a 45-24 win at home over Cal last week to improve to 4-1 on the season and 1-1 in the Pac-12. The Ducks are 3-2 against the spread this season, including 2-1 ATS at home. Oregon’s defense is allowing just 26 points and 332.2 yards per game this season while the offense is putting up 49.6 points and 537.4 yards per contest. Royce Freeman is leading the offense with 592 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns. Freeman is dealing with a shoulder injury but it won’t keep him from playing tonight. Justin Herbert has thrown for 1,264 yards and nine touchdowns to lead the passing attack.
WASHINGTON STATE
Washington State is coming off a big 30-27 win over USC last week to improve to 5-0 on the season and 2-0 in the Pac-12. The Cougars are 3-2 against the spread, covering in their last three games. Washington State is giving up just 20.2 points and 275.2 yards per game this year on defense. The Cougars pass defense is allowing only 146.6 yards per game. On offense, Washington State is averaging 41 points and 495.8 yards per game behind a great passing attack that averages 414 yards per game. Luke Falk has thrown for 1,718 yards and 16 touchdowns with only two interceptions. Tavares Martin Jr. is the leading receiver with 32 receptions for 445 yards and seven touchdowns.
COLLEGE FOOTBALL PREDICTIONS
Washington State has dominated this series at the betting window, but the Cougars have done so as an underdog each time. Washington State now hits the road as a favorite today, which I don’t like. The Cougars are playing in their first road game of the season, which is always a challenge. Especially at a place like Autzen Stadium. Oregon has looked pretty good on defense this year and the offense is right up there with Washington State in terms of production. Give me the Ducks as a home dog.
COLLEGE FOOTBALL PREDICTIONS: OREGON +2.5
