College Football Predictions: Will N.C. State upset Louisville? 10/5/17

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Louisville is favored on the road, as the Cardinals are getting odds of -3 points against N.C. State. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 65.5 points. Louisville has won five of the last six meetings with N.C. State and the Cardinals are 4-2 against the spread in those games. Tonight’s game takes place from Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh, North Carolina and will air live on ESPN.
N.C. STATE
N.C. State comes into tonight’s game 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the ACC following a 33-25 win over Syracuse. The Wolf Pack are just 1-4 against the spread, failing to cover in any home game this season. N.C. State is putting up 34.8 points per game this year while also averaging 461.2 yards per contest. Ryan Finley has thrown for 1,403 yards and nine touchdowns this season to lead the offense while Nyheim Hines has 411 rushing yards with three touchdowns. Defensively, the Wolf Pack are giving up 23.4 points and 370.4 yards per game.
LOUISVILLE
Louisville is off to a 4-1 start overall and 1-1 mark in the ACC. The Cardinals are coming off a 55-10 win over Murray State last week, but they failed to cover for the third straight game. Louisville is also just 1-4 against the spread this season. The Cardinals offense has been tough to stop, amassing 40 points and 575.4 yards per contest. Heisman winner Lamar Jackson has thrown for 1,636 yards and 13 touchdowns while rushing for 437 yards and five touchdowns. Jaylen Smith has caught 22 passes for 379 yards and two touchdowns. Dez Fitzpatrick has added six touchdown catches. Defensively, Louisville is allowing 24.6 points and 317.6 yards per game.
COLLEGE FOOTBALL PREDICTIONS
Both team has better defenses than you would expect and I think they will each play a factor, but Louisville seems to have the bigger playmakers on offense. N.C. State has been able to do some good things and beating them on the road will be tough, but I see Jackson having another big game. He should be able to set the tone and it will be tough for the Wolf Pack to match him score for score.
