According to oddsmakers at YouWager, Michigan State is the favorite in this game, as the Spartans are getting odds of -3 points against Purdue. The over/under total for the game is listed at 148 points. Today’s game takes place from the Breslin Center in East Lansing, Michigan and will air live on ESPN.

PURDUE

Purdue is coming off a 64-63 loss at home to Ohio State, snapping a 19-game win streak. The Boilermakers are 23-3 overall, 12-1 in the Big Ten and 14-11 against the spread. Purdue is averaging 83.2 points per game this season while allowing 64.2 per contest. Carsen Edwards is leading Purdue this season with 17 points per game while Vincent Edwards is adding 15.3 points and 7.8 rebounds per game.

MICHIGAN STATE

Michigan State is coming off a 96-93 win at Iowa for its seventh straight victory. The Spartans are 23-3 overall, 11-2 in the Big Ten and 13-12-1 against the spread. MSU is putting up 83.7 points per game this season while allowing 65.3 per game on defense. Miles Bridges is leading MSU this season with 17.7 points and 7.3 rebounds per game while Nick Ward is adding 13.3 points and 7.5 rebounds per contest.

COLLEGE BASKETBALL PREDICTIONS

Purdue has won three of its last four meetings with Michigan State and the Boilermakers are 4-1 against the spread in the last five in this series. Both teams are struggling to cover right now. Purdue has failed to cover in five straight and the Spartans are 0-4-1 ATS in their last five. MSU plays to its competition, so I expect this game to be close, but I think Purdue has the edge. The Spartans are sloppy with the ball on offense and get lax at times defensively. Purdue will take advantage of that in ways other teams don’t. The public betting is split on this game, but I like Purdue to cover on the road.
