College Basketball Predictions: Will Oklahoma upset TCU? 12/30/17
One of the featured college basketball games on Saturday’s slate has No. 10 TCU hosting No. 12 Oklahoma in the Big 12 opener for both teams at 2PM ET. Here’s our College Basketball Predictions for this game.
ODDS
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, TCU is the slight favorite at home, as the Horned Frogs are getting odds of -2.5 points against Oklahoma. The over/under total for the game has been set at 170.5 points. Today’s game takes place from Ed and Rae Schollmaier Arena in Fort Worth, Texas and will air live on ESPN2.
OKLAHOMA
Oklahoma is riding an 8-game win streak into Big 12 play today. The Sooners are now 10-1 on the season while posting a 4-6 mark against the spread. Oklahoma has covered in two straight games, including a 104-78 win over Northwestern last week. Oklahoma is averaging 95.1 points per game this year while allowing 79.1 per game on defense. The Sooners have the clear frontrunner for Player of the Year in Trae Young. He is averaging 28.7 points and 10.4 assists per game for the Sooners. Christian James is adding 13.4 points per contest.
TCU
TCU has been rolling right along to a 12-0 start in 2017. The Horned Frogs have also covered the spread in three of their last four games to get to 6-5 against the spread on the year. The Horned Frogs are putting up 87.5 points per game this season while allowing 72.6 per game on defense. Kenrich Williams is averaging 14.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per game to lead TCU. He is battling a knee injury but is expected to play. Vladimir Brodziansky is adding 13.5 points and 4.3 rebounds per game.
COLLEGE BASKETBALL PREDICTIONS
The home team has won five of the last six meetings in this series, but Oklahoma has covered in five of the last eight encounters. TCU is off to a great start, but the Horned Frogs also haven’t faced a great schedule. This should be their toughest test to date. Young is a handful, as he can score from anywhere and is able to create a lot of offense when he isn’t scoring. I think he will continue his tremendous season and be too much for the Horned Frogs. The public betting is siding with Oklahoma as well.
