College Basketball Predictions: Will Northwestern upset Oklahoma?
Can No. 17 Oklahoma avoid a letdown at home when the Sooners play host to Northwestern tonight at 7PM ET? Here’s our College Basketball Predictions for this game.
ODDS
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Oklahoma is favored at home tonight, as the Sooners are getting odds of -9 points against Northwestern. The over/under total for the game is listed at 157 points. Tonight’s game takes place from the Lloyd Noble Center in Norman, Oklahoma and will air live on ESPN2.
OKLAHOMA
Oklahoma is riding a 7-game winning streak coming into tonight’s game. That includes wins over the likes of Oregon, USC and Wichita State. The Sooners are now 9-1 overall, but just 3-6 against the spread. Oklahoma is putting up 94.2 points per game on offense while allowing 79.2 per game on defense. The Sooners have a Player of the Year candidate in Trae Young. Fresh off a 22-assist performance, he is averaging 28.5 points and 10.2 assists per game this year. Christian James is adding 12.8 points and 4.5 rebounds per game.
NORTHWESTERN
Northwestern is on a 4-game winning streak coming into tonight’s contest. The Wildcats are now 9-4 overall. They have covered the spread in three of their last four lined games to move to 4-6 against the spread on the season. Northwestern is averaging 74 points per game on offense while giving up just 64.8 per game on defense. Scottie Lindsey is leading Northwestern with 15.8 points per game while Vic Law adds 13.7 points and 5.3 rebounds per contest. Law is questionable to play tonight due to a head injury.
COLLEGE BASKETBALL PREDICTIONS
These two have no recent meetings to consider for today’s game. Northwestern is a team that is trying to get into the national picture, but the Wildcats don’t have anyone that can quite compete with Young. The Wildcats could also be without Law, one of their leading scorers. Young is able to create so much offense for himself and others, that I think it will be tough for Northwestern to keep pace. The public betting is slightly with Oklahoma and I agree with them.
