College Basketball Predictions: Can Michigan State cover at Indiana?

ODDS

According to oddsmakers at YouWager, Michigan State is the favorite in this game, as the Spartans are getting odds of -8.5 points against Indiana. The over/under total for the contest has been listed at 141.5 points. Tonight’s game takes place from Assembly Hall in Bloomington, Indiana and will air live on ESPN.

MICHIGAN STATE

Michigan State has won five straight coming into tonight, including a 76-68 win over Penn State at home earlier this week. The Spartans are 21-3 overall, 9-2 in the Big Ten and 13-10-1 against the spread. MSU is putting up 84 points per game this season while allowing just 64.3 per game. Miles Bridges has been leading the team this year with 17.9 points and 7.4 rebounds per game while Nick Ward is adding 13.4 points and 7.9 rebounds per game.

INDIANA

Indiana is coming off a 71-56 loss at Ohio State for its third defeat in three games. The Hoosiers are 12-11 overall, 5-6 in the Big Ten and 12-11 against the spread. Indiana is scoring 72.1 points per game while allowing 71.5 per contest. Juwan Morgan is averaging 16.3 points and 7.1 rebounds per game to lead Indiana while Robert Johnson is adding 13.4 points per contest.

COLLEGE BASKETBALL PREDICTIONS

Michigan State has won six of its last seven meetings with Indiana, including an 85-57 win at home back on Jan. 19. However, the Spartans aren’t the same team at home as they are on the road. MSU averages 12 points less per game on the road this season. They also are 0-2-1 ATS in their last three, trailing Penn State by double figures before rallying late to win this week. I don’t trust Michigan State to run past Indiana on the road. They just have showed the consistency to do that away from home. The public betting agrees, and is strong with Indiana tonight.
