Celtics vs. Bucks NBA Predictions: Will the under cash? 10/26/17
Will the under cash tonight when the Bucks host the Celtics at 8:00PM ET?
The Odds: Celtics at Bucks, 8:00PM ET, Thursday
According to oddsmakers, Milwaukee is now a 4-point home favorite versus Boston. The Celtics opened as a 3.5-point underdog but the line was bet up a half-point. As for the total, the number hit the board at 207 but dropped to 206.
Boston has started the season 2-2 straight up and 3-1 against the spread. As for Milwaukee, the Bucks have won three of their first four games and are 2-1-1 at the betting window.
Boston Celtics
Jayson Tatum started for the Celtics again and hit 9-of-15 shots and four 3-pointers for a career-high 22 points, four rebounds, two assists, four steals and two blocks in 31 minutes of Tuesday’s blowout win over the Knicks.
Tatum has been a pleasant surprise this season and while the return of Marcus Morris (knee) could send him to the bench, the reality is that he’s a better player than Morris, and a demotion is not guaranteed. He’s averaging 14.8 points, 7.8 rebounds, 1.3 blocks, 1.3 steals and 1.3 3-pointers, along with 34 minutes per game. It would be a shame to see Morris come back and rain on this parade, but Tatum should be owned in all leagues until further notice at this point.
Milwaukee Bucks
Mirza Teletovic hit 5-of-10 shots and five 3-pointers for 15 points and five rebounds off the Bucks bench in Monday’s win over the Hornets.
He’s gotten better each game, scoring zero, 3, 9 and 15 points this season. Teletovic is worth keeping an eye on, but there’s no reason to pick him up at this point.
Our Prediction
The under has cashed in eight of the last 11 meetings between these two teams in Milwaukee. In Boston’s last 27 road games, the under is also 18-7-2. In Milwaukee’s last seven home games, the combined score fell under five times. Finally, the under is 15-7-1 in the Bucks’ last 23 conference games.
Thursday NBA Prediction: Celtics/Bucks under 206
