Atlanta Braves vs. New York Mets MLB Predictions 4/26/17
Will the over cash for bettors when the New York Mets host the Atlanta Braves tonight at 7:10PM ET?
The Odds
According to oddsmakers, the Mets are -190 on the money line to beat the Braves tonight. Atlanta, meanwhile, has odds of +170 to pull off the upset tonight in the Big Apple. As for the total, the number hit the board at 6.5 and that’s where it currently sits.
Braves’ Teheran coming off poor outing
After producing three straight quality starts to open his 2017 campaign, Julio Teheran was roughed up in his last outing. He was rocked for seven runs over four innings against the Nationals. He allowed seven hits, walked three and struck out three in the loss. Bryce Harper did most of the damage, launching a solo home run in the first inning and then a grand slam in the second. Teheran now owns a 3.52 ERA and a 1.22 WHIP on the season.
Syndergaard sensational for New York Mets
Meanwhile, Noah Syndergaard has been fantastic for the Mets this season. In four games he owns a 1.73 ERA and a 0.83 WHIP, which covers 26 combined innings. He is coming off a weird outing, as he allowed five runs on seven hits last Thursday in a loss to the Phillies. Only five of those three runs were earned and he did strike out 10 batters, but he was a victim of poor defense. In four games in 2017, Syndergaard has four quality starts.
Our MLB Prediction
The over is 5-1 in Teheran’s last six starts against National League East rivals and is 10-4 in his last 14 outings overall. In his last six starts versus a team with a losing record, the over cashed in five of those contests. The over is 10-4-2 in the Braves’ last 16 games in the first game of a new series.
On the other side, the over is 7-1-2 in the Mets’ last 10 home games and is 4-1-1 in the last six games overall. When Syndergaard is coming off five days of rest, the over is also 6-2-1.
Wednesday MLB Prediction: Braves/Mets over 6.5
