Astros vs. Dodgers World Series Game 7 Predictions 11/1/17

Mets vs Dodgers

Will tonight’s Game 7 matchup between the Astros and Dodgers once again fall under the betting total?

The Odds: Astros at Dodgers, Game 7, World Series, 8:00PM ET

According to oddsmakers, Los Angeles is a -145 money line favorite to win it all tonight. Houston, meanwhile, is listed as a +125 money line underdog to win its first World Series title in franchise history. The over/under currently sits at 7.5 runs.

Houston Astros

Astros manager A.J. Hinch confirmed that Lance McCullers will start Game 7 of the World Series on Wednesday. McCullers was available out of the bullpen in Game 6 on Tuesday, but Hinch decided to save the 24-year-old right-hander.

McCullers allowed three earned runs on four hits and four walks over 5 1/3 innings in Game 3 of the World Series on Friday. That said, he boasts a 2.95 ERA and 1.04 WHIP through four total appearances (18 1/3 innings) in this 2017 postseason.

Los Angeles Dodgers

Joc Pederson hit a solo homer in the Dodgers’ World Series Game 6 win over the Astros on Tuesday. Pederson’s opposite-field drive over the left field wall in the bottom of the seventh inning increased the Dodgers’ lead to 3-1, giving fatigued closer Kenley Jansen a little more wiggle room for his successful six-out save.

Pederson now has three home runs, two doubles, and six RBI in this 2017 World Series after struggling at the plate throughout the regular season.

Clayton Kershaw and Yu Darvish will both be available tonight. Kershaw was unable to make it through five innings in Game 5 on Sunday, yielding six earned runs over 4 2/3 frames in a wild 13-12 extra-innings loss. Darvish, meanwhile, lasted just 1 2/3 innings while surrendering four runs in a losing effort in Game 3 of the series against the Astros.

Our Prediction

Following a low-scoring Game 6, I love the under again tonight. The 13-12 offensive outburst we saw on Sunday night in Game 5 was a combination of Minute Maid Park’s dimensions and a pair of red-hot offenses. Now that the temperatures of cooled in Los Angeles, I expect the bats to stay relatively quiet.

The total has gone under in 7 of Houston’s last 10 games when playing Los Angeles. The under has also hit in four of the Astros’ last six games when playing at Dodger Stadium.

2017 World Series Game 7 Prediction: Astros/Dodgers under 7.5
