Public Betting Information & Odds
According to oddsmakers, the Rockies are -137 money line favorites to win tonight. The Diamondbacks, meanwhile, are +124 money line underdogs to pull off the upset. Diamondbacks’ Koch tosses seven scoreless innings vs. Marlins
Matt Koch allowed just three hits with no walks and six strikeouts across seven scoreless innings in a victory Sunday against Miami. Koch turned in his first quality start since May 11 against the Nationals. It helps that he was facing a terrible Marlins offense.
He has won back-to-back starts and will look to make it a season-high three wins in a row when he toes the slab Saturday night in Colorado. He has actually been better on the road this season, going 1-1 with a 2.03 ERA in three games (two starts), while posting a 3-2 record and 4.32 ERA in six starts at home.
Rockies’ Bettis can’t hang on for win vs. Dodgers
Chad Bettis allowed five earned runs, seven hits and no walks with six strikeouts over 5 2/3 innings in a no-decision Sunday against the Dodgers. The kryptonite for Bettis was Max Muncy, as he swatted a solo homer in the first inning and a three-run bomb off of the righty in the third.
Bettis was staked to a 6-1 lead through two innings, but he allowed three in the third and the bullpen yielded six more runs in the final four innings to turn a big early lead into a loss. Bettis will look to turn things around next Saturday against Matt Koch and the visiting Diamondbacks.
The Diamondbacks have lost 11 of their last 14 road games despite winning last night at Coors Field.
The Rockies are just 2-6 in their last eight games overall.
The Diamondbacks have won six in a row at Coors Field so this is one place they’ve had success on the road. They’re also 6-1 in their last seven games versus the Rockies overall. On the other side, the Rockies are 1-4 in their last five games coming off a loss and have dropped five in a row at home.
MLB Prediction: Arizona Diamondbacks +124
