ACC Championship Betting Odds: Florida State Favored 5/27/17

College Basketball Predictions

The odds are out for which team will win the ACC Championship this upcoming college football season. Which team is favored? Let’s take a look at the odds.

The Favorite: Florida State Seminoles

According to oddsmakers, Florida State is a 5/4 favorite to win the ACC crown this upcoming season. The Seminoles finished the last two seasons with identical 10-3 records. FSU closed 2016 with wins in eight of its final nine games, including a win over Michigan in the Capital One Orange Bowl.

The Challenger: Clemson Tigers

Clemson beat Alabama in the national championship game last season but the Tigers are not even favored to win the ACC in 2017. Clemson has odds of 7/2 to win the conference and is listed behind Florida State. The Tigers will have to overcome losing quarterback Deshaun Watson, receiver Mike Williams, cornerback Cordrea Tankersley, running back Wayne Gallman, defensive tackle Carlos Watkins, tight end Jordan Leggett and linebacker Ben Boulware to the NFL.

In the Mix: Louisville, Miami & Virginia Tech

Following FSU and Clemson in the odds are Louisville at 9/2, Miami at 15/2, and Virginia Tech at 15/2. The Cardinals will benefit from the return of Heisman quarterback Lamar Jackson, while the Hurricanes will have an opportunity to build on Mark Richt’s first season. The Hokies, meanwhile, also seem to be in the ACC mix.

The Rest of the Field

N.C. State is a 20/1 long shot to win the ACC next season. Georgia Tech and North Carolina, meanwhile, are 25/1, followed by Pittsburgh at 30/1.

The odds drop big-time after Pitt. Duke is 50/1, Boston College, Syracuse and Virginia are 100/1, respectively, while Wake Forest has the longest odds at 150/1.

Given the talent level of the long-shots, there isn’t a team in this group that’s worth a roll of the dice.
