2017 Kentucky Derby Odds – Classic Empire Favored

The odds have been released for the 2017 Kentucky Derby and Classic Empire is currently favored.

Classic Empire is favored to win the Kentucky Derby, which will take place on May 6 this year, at 9/2 odds according to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv. Always Dreaming has the next-best odds at 19/4, while Irish War Cry is 6/1. McCraken is also 9/1 while Gunnevera is 10/1.

In his last start, Classic Empire finished first in the Grade 1 Arkansas Derby on April 15, beating out Conquest Mo Money and Lookin At Lee. The win at the Arkansas Derby was Classic Empire’s third in his last four starts, as he also won the Grade 1 Breeders’ Futurity and the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile. He finished third in the Grade 2 Holy Bull.

As for Always Dreaming, the 3-year-old colt finished first in the Grade 1 Florida Derby after winning an allowance on March 4. In that victory at the Florida Derby, Always Dreaming beat State Of Honor and Gunnevera with a time of 1:47.47. In four career races, Always Dreaming has never finished out of the money.

Continuing with the current Kentucky Derby Odds, Irap, Tapwrit, Gormley, Battalion Runner, Thunder Snow and Patrical Joke are all 16/1, respectively. Girvin is 18/1 to win at Churchill Downs in a couple of weeks, while Malagacy and Hence are both 22/1, respectively. J Boys Echo is 28/1.

Some of the mid-range long-shots include Lookin At Lee, Cloud Computing, Patch and Battle of Midway, who are all 40/1, respectively. State Of Honor has 50/1 odds, as does Untrapped, while Fast and Accurate has the longest odds at 66/1.

The 2017 Kentucky Derby will take place at Churchill Downs on Saturday, May 6. The race will air at 6:46 p.m. ET on NBC Sports starting at Noon.
