2017 Heisman Trophy Odds – Darnold Favored
After finishing the 2016 season on a tear, USC quarterback Sam Darnold is favored to win the 2017 Heisman Trophy.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Darnold has 9/2 odds to win the 2017 Heisman Trophy. Darnold, a freshman a year ago, threw for 3,086 yards with 31 touchdowns and just nine interceptions. He led the Trojans to nine consecutive victories to close out the 2016 season, including a 52-49 victory over Penn State in the Rose Bowl.
The Other 2017 Heisman Contenders
Oklahoma signal-caller Baker Mayfield has the next-best odds at 15/2, followed by Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett at 17/2. Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson is also 17/2 to repeat as the Heisman Trophy winner.
Continuing with the odds, Jake Browning of Washington is 12/1 to win the 2017 Heisman Trophy while Florida State’s Deondre Francois is 14/1. Mason Rudolph of Oklahoma State and Saquon Barkley of Penn State are both 16/1, respectively. LSU running back Derrius Guice and UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen are both 18/1, respectively.
The Mid-Range Long Shots
Some of the mid-range long-shots including Alabama running back Bo Scarbrough, quarterback Jalen Hurts, and Auburn signal-caller Jarrett Stidham, who are all 20/1, respectively. Trace McSorley of Penn State has 25/1 odds to win the 2017 Heisman Trophy while Georgia running back Nick Chubb is 28/1. Luke Falk (Washington State) and Quinton Flowers (South Florida) are both 30/1, respectively.
After finishing strong in 2016, Auburn running back Kamryn Pettway is 35/1 to win the 2017 Heisman Trophy, as is Mississippi State quarterback Nick Fitzgerald. Mike Weber of Ohio State is 45/1, while Texas signal-caller Shane Buechele and West Virginia’s Will Frier are 50/1, respectively. Washington running back Myles Gaskin is 55/1.
Finally, Notre Dame’s Brandon Wimbush, Georgia’s Jacob Eason, and Oregon’s Royce Freeman are all 60/1, respectively. James Washington of Oklahoma State is 65/1, followed by Houston’s Kyle Allen at 75/1. Christian Kirk of Texas A&M, Ed Oliver of Houston, and Wilton Speight of Michigan State are all 80/1, respectively.
